Luntian Bags is a livelihood program based in San Teodoro, Mabini, Batangas, Philippines. It was founded in 2007 by Ichay Bulaong, a corporate executive who wanted to give back to her local weekend-home community, and promote the anti-plastic advocacy by using canvas bags for shopping trips instead of plastic ones. Today, Luntian Bags provides livelihood for 18 individuals - cutting, sewing, printing, and doing embroidery. These are mostly stay-at-home moms and wives of fishermen and laborers, and the empowered women are now able to help provide income for the family, instead of being totally dependent on their husbands and children's support.

Luntian Bags is a promoter of the Bring Your Own Bag movement, believing that durable, quality-made eco bags are one of the sustainable, long term solutions to plastic pollution.

Every year, more than 500 billion plastic bags are distributed, and less than 3% of those bags are recycled. They are typically made of polyethylene and can take up to 1,000 years to biodegrade in landfills that emit harmful greenhouse gases.
